New York Fashion Week 2016: Favorite Collections

New York Fashion Week just ended and I saw some incredible designs on the catwalk. There were many amazing works of art, but I found these designers to have some of the best in my opinion: Rodarte, Jonathan Simkhai, and Zimmermann.

These three designers had similar collections in that the colors were mostly white and cream. I love how delicate and whimsical these pieces are. I especially love Rodarte's collection because what girl doesn't love a little bit of sparkle? The models' charming hair accessories were a great touch and it gave the looks even more of a whimsical vibe. Obviously there were many more collections that debuted during NYFW, but these were my absolute favorites!

Beauty Buzz: World's Most Beautiful Lipstick

I often come across some beauty products that are causing a lot of hype on the internet. I had to do a post on this particular product because I think it's one of most prettiest things I have ever seen.

These lipsticks are from a brand called Kailijumei. The top image is from their Summer Simplicity Set and the bottom ones come individually. I've seen some reviews regarding these lipsticks and a lot of people were saying how they were disappointed that the colors don't coincide with the name of the lipstick. However, if you read their website carefully, it says that these lipsticks are all pink shades and the name of the lipstick refers to the color of the flower inside. Also, it's important to note that these lipsticks are more like a stain rather than a lipstick. I think if you ever want to buy these, you should just get one of them because they all pretty much have the same color.

Regard of whether you'd buy one or not, you have to admit that these lipsticks are unique and beautiful. It's amazing how they came up with such an innovative product and I'm impressed with the concept of these lipsticks. From what I have heard, they also put some effort into the packaging as well.

What do you think of these lipsticks?

Favorite OOTW

I always see pictures of celebrities and their amazing outfits when they're just out and about doing normal (or not so normal) things, so I decided to do a post on some of my favorite looks I've seen this week. This week, I found these give ladies to have some of the best outfits!

(Pictured from left to right: Kaia Gerber, Rita Ora, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen)

I love all of these outfits, hence why they are featured in this post, but I really love Kendall's outfit here. It's so edgy and although she's showing a lot of skin, it doesn't look too sexy. Wearing lingerie or something as delicate as lingerie as part of your outfit, like Kendall with her top, is something that's been popping up a lot recently. It gives you an excuse to wear them outside of your bedroom as well, which is always nice.

Style Inspo: Selena Gomez

Today's Style Inspo focuses on Selena Gomez. I don't think she used to be quite this stylish when she was younger, but recently her outfits have been looking on-point! She does often times wear just a t-shirt and pants, but whenever she puts some effort into her look, she comes out looking amazing. She also sports a lot of monochrome outfits so I love whenever she wears something colorful to change it up. From the image above, you can tell Selena likes her reds when it comes to color and I think red suits her perfectly.

She has stepped up her red carpet looks as well, although I didn't include any here today. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of looks she's going to wear at future award shows and of course her out-and-about outfits.

DUcare Makeup Brushes Review

DUcare has kindly sent me one of their brush sets to review. I first just want to say that all opinions are my own and I will always be honest about a product or brand. Also, keep reading until the end for a coupon code to get 35% off your purchase!

This set comes with 6 brushes: powder brush, foundation brush, eyeshadow brush, mid eyeshadow brush, small eyeshadow brush, and a lip brush.

My first impression was that I was surprised by the makeup roll the brushes came in, it's very sturdy and has a very nice clasp. However, it does have a really strong plastic-y smell and you can smell it right when you open the package. Leaving that aside however, since the main product is the brushes, the actual brushes are pretty nice. The bristles aren't as soft as my other brushes I already own such as my RealTechniques brushes, but it's not so bad either.

After washing and using, I found the foundation and powder brush to be rough on the skin. It is somewhat soft to the touch when you touch it with your hands, but it's a little rough on the face. I didn't really like applying foundation and powder with these brushes to be honest. The other brushes however, weren't bad. I didn't use the lip brush so I don't know how that one is, but the eye shadow brushes are really nice and they applied eyeshadow pretty well.

All in all, these brushes are average, not great but not bad either. They're really well made, but I just didn't like the foundation brush and the powder brush because the bristles are a little too rough for my liking. The eyeshadow brushes, on the other hand, are nice and I liked using them. If you're interested in purchasing this set or want to see their other products, click here to see their shop on Amazon. (The set I received is this one: click here)

Like I mentioned at the beginning of the post, DUcare has kindly offered all of my readers a 35% off discount code. Use the code X5A6SF77 at checkout to get the discount!

Japan 2016: Tokyo, Osaka, Nara

I recently just came back from my annual trip to Japan a few days ago. I always have so much fun going there and I just love the country so much. My parents and I were only in Japan for around 10 days, which is shorter than usual but it was still great nonetheless.

We first spent one full day in Tokyo. I've always wanted to see the "mirrored tunnel" going up inside the Tokyu Plaza building in Omotesando so that's where we ended up first. The building itself consists of retail stores like American Eagle, but shopping wasn't what I came here to do. I literally just wanted to take a picture of the mirrors inside haha. But look how cool!

We then wandered off to Roppongi and decided to go to Roppongi Hills to check out the amazing view. Here you can probably see one of the best views of Tokyo and Tokyo Tower. At Roppongi Hills, they actually had a Studio Ghibli expo happening on the same floor as the observatory! We weren't allowed to take any pictures of the exhibition, but I sneakily took one picture of giant Totoro, oops.

The next day, we headed back to the airport and flew to Osaka. Osaka is my favorite city in Japan and I generally just love the Kansai area. The food is great, the people are friendly, and there is so much history. I didn't take any great pictures while I was here though because I come back to Osaka every year so there's nothing really new for me.

Some days later, we went to Nara during the day to check out my grandmother's grave since she passed a couple weeks prior. It was a little sad seeing her and my grandfather's grave. The realization that now all of my grandparents were no longer on this earth hit me and it was a little upsetting to be honest.

After Nara, we just spent the rest of the time we had in Osaka and had a nice, wonderful time. The trip came to an end in a blink of an eye and soon enough we were at the airport ready to head home. We've flown ANA for the past few years now and I just can't say enough good things about this airline. If you ever want to come to Japan, fly ANA and you'll see why I love them so much.

Anyhow, that was pretty much my trip in a nutshell. It was way too quick for my liking but I'm sure I'll be back soon. I hope you all had a nice summer vacation too!

My Skincare Routine

Today I'm sharing the products I use for skincare. I recently started paying more attention to my skin and taking care of it as best as I can. We can't always stay young after all!

Most of these products are Japanese and I got them there, so I'm not positive if you can buy it elsewhere. I'm sure you can purchase them on Amazon though, they literally have everything! Anyways, without further ado here is my skincare routine.

Step 1 Exfoliate: St. Ives Green Tea Scrub
I don't exfoliate every day because I don't think that's quite good for your skin. Instead, I exfoliate about twice a week. I used to use the Apricot one from the same brand, but I stopped using it because the beads are too big and it's too harsh for my skin. The green tea one has finer beads and it also helps with the redness of the skin.

Step 2 Cleanse: Bioré Marshmallow Whip Foaming Cleanser
I always use foaming cleansers because I feel like the foam gets into your skin better thus cleaning it better. This cleanser is from Japan and has four different types. I tend to use the green one in the warmer months since it helps with acne and oiliness, and I use the blue one whenever I don't use the green one.

Step 3 Tone: Muji Toning Water
This step is fairly new as I recently just starting using toners. This one is from Muji, which is known for their stationary goods. I didn't even know they had skincare products until couple weeks ago. Anyways, I saw that this product was rated really high on @cosme so I had to get it! It's really affordable as well, which never hurts.

Step 4 Moisturize: Curél Face cream
Curél makes amazing products. I've started seeing a lot of their products in the States, especially in Wal-Mart so it's pretty accessible now. This was also rated very high on @cosme so I purchased it last minute at Narita airport before leaving Japan. I always just used to use body lotion to moisturize my face, but using actual moisturizer intended for the face moisturizes my face much better.

Step 5 Eye cream: SANA Isoflavone (Isofurabon) Wrinkle Eye Cream
This is another Japanese product I got while I was there. Like the toner, I used to never use eye cream until now. I think prevention is key and it doesn't hurt to start early. I just put this on at night right before I go to bed. This product is fairly inexpensive, I think it was around 1000 yen (~$10) or so.

Step 6 Sunscreen (if going outside): Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence Cool
I never leave the house anymore without some sort of sunscreen, especially in summer. Many Japanese sunscreens are light and aren't sticky, which is why I love them. This one has is cool when you put it on your skin so it's perfect for the hot summer months.

Well, that was pretty much my skincare routine. I'll try to link where you can purchase these products later! Thanks for reading :)

Music Monday: 7/18

I'm going to dedicate Mondays (even though this time I'm one day late oops) to posting about music since it's one of favorite things. I'm probably not going to do this every week because I don't listen to new music that often and sometimes I only listen to a limited amount.
Today, I'll be talking about albums I've been loving that have been released fairly recently. I listen to a lot of genres so this list includes albums from several genres.

1. Blink 182 - California
Favorite songs: "She's Out of her Mind," "Sober," "King of the Weekend," "San Diego"
2. Cash Cash - bBlood, Sweat & 3 Years
Favorite songs: "Devil," "The Gun," "Millionaire"
3. Gwen Stefani - This Is What The Truth Feels Like
Favorite songs: "Misery," "Make Me Like You," "Asking 4 It,"
4. State Champs - Around the World and Back
Favorite songs: I literally love all the songs on this album, no joke.
5. Kanye West - The Life of Pablo
Favorite songs: "Famous," "No More Parties in LA," "~ Pt. 2"
6. Fifth Harmony - 7/27
Favorite songs: "Work From Home," "The Life," "All In My Head," "Not That Kinda Girl"
7. Flume - Skin

**By the way, I'm headed to Japan today for a couple of days so I'm not sure if I can get a blog post up, but I'll definitely do a post about my trip!

Style Inspo: Kendall Jenner

These kinds of posts, where I focus on a celebrity's style, were very popular on my last blog so I thought I'd bring it back! Today's post features Kendall Jenner.

As many of you probably know, Kendall is a reality tv star and a model. I've always thought she was stylish but recently, her outfits have been on point. She probably has her stylist to thank for that! Anyways, Kendall's style is effortless yet edgy. I love how she incorporates simple elements to her outfits with more of the 'out there' pieces. I never really see her in heels either unless it's at an event, she's always rocking some boots or some sort of flat shoes, even sneakers. I think it's safe to say she's the best dressed Kardashian/Jenner... I mean she is a model after all.

What do you think of her style?

Glow On with Popular Highlighters!

Warning: these products may cause potential blindness. Only joking! But then again, these highlighters have been talked about all over the internet for being very pigmented and bright. Highlighters are the craze right now and I can understand why. They make your look glowy and beautiful.
These are the some of the most talked about highlighters that I've seen in the recent months.

1. Becca, Champagne Pop $38
Jaclyn Hill has been killing it with her collaboration with Becca Cosmetics. Her highlighters have been raved about everywhere. This is one of the first highlighters I've heard of that everyone liked. If I had to get a highlighter, I would probably choose this one.

2. Hourglass, Ambient Lighting Palette $62
This palette contains three shades that utilizes photoluminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion, amazing. The powders deliver a multidimensional luminescence and enhances the skin in any type of light.

3. Jeffree Star, Ice Cold $29
This highlighter is one of the biggest ones I've seen compared to other highlighters. These Skin Frosts come in three other shades as well. These are extremely pigmented and shiny, which is good for those looking for a killer highlight.

4. ABH, Glow Kit: That Glow (Sunburst, Golden Bronze, Bubbly, Dripping in Gold) $49
This kit is a collection of four metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity. These highly bendable shades brings instant luminosity to the complexion giving you a radiant look. These bronzy shades are perfect for the summer too.

5. Colourpop, Lunch Money $8
This is most cheapest out of them all, but don't underestimate it because of the price. In fact, I've noticed that Colourpop's highlighters are actually better than some of the higher end ones. They carry highlighters in many shades besides Lunch Money so you're sure to find a shade that is perfect for you.

Summer 2016 Trends

Hi guys! Now that it's officially summer, I thought I'd gather up some trendy pieces I've been seeing a lot of lately for this summer season. I'm not really one to follow trends, but some of these items are really cute and can take your outfit to the next level.

1. Off-the-shoulder
I love off the shoulder tops! Showing a little bit of your shoulder can give your outfit that little bit of a sexy edge. There's also a bunch of them that come in dresses and ones with cutouts, which is prefect for summer. Nice and breezy!
(Pictured: SheInside)

2.  Choker necklaces
These are still so popular and I always see celebrities pulling these off. I love how minimal they are, yet gives your outfit a little oomph. Pair them with a simple outfit and you're good to go, no other accessories needed.
(Pictured: Forever21)

3. Pompoms
Colorful pompoms are perfect for summer. They're cute, bright, and makes any look playful and fun. The ones pictured are shoes with pompoms, but I've seen bags, hats, and shirts with them on it.
(Pictured: NetAPorter)

4. Loose trousers
Ahhh, I love these. If you still want to wear pants in the hot heat, these are the way to go since they're so breezy and don't stick to you. They come in so many different shapes, lengths, materials, and patterns!
(Pictured: Zara)

5. Lace-up
Lace-ups are still the way to go, even now in the hot months. They give your outfit an edgy and cool vibe. Lace-up shoes are also big and I've seen them around everywhere!

What are some summer 2016 trends, you've been loving?

Yup, that's right. If you've been on this blog, you've probably noticed that things haven't been posted here at all. Well that's about to change!
